                        Basil most popularly known as Tulasi has been used for thousands of years in Ayurveda for its diverse healing properties. Healing Power. The Basil or Tulasi plant has many medicinal properties. The leaves strengthen the stomach and help in respiratory diseases and Kidney Stone. Basil has strengthening effect on the kidney.Also known as the 'queen of herbs', holy basil or tulasi.

Types of Tulasi

There are three main types of tulasi plants:

Rama Tulsi (also known as green leaf tulasi): A green tulasi with light purple flowers and an aromatic, clovelike scent (thanks to its chemical component of eugenol, which is the main aroma in cloves) and mellower flavor.

Krishna Tulasi (also known as Shyama Tulasi or purple leaf tulasi): A purple plant with a clovelike aroma and peppery flavor.

Vana Tulasi (or wild leaf tulasi): A bright, light green tulasi plant that grows wild and is indigenous to many areas of Asia; it has a more lemony aroma and flavor.

Tulasi in all form:s- dried, fresh and powdered has several healing properties. Chewing on a few tulasi leaves regularly can be super beneficial for you, but did you know sipping on tulasi tea can be even better?


Healing Properties of Tulasi:

1. The leaves area unit is accorded as a nerve tonic and additionally sharpens memory and stabilizes the brain sequentially, a healing agent.

After about three minutes, strain the tea in a glass. You can drink this tea as it is or add a teaspoon of honey and a half teaspoon of lemon juice in it for extra flavour and benefits. In fact, you can also add cardamom and ginger while preparing the tea.
